Our view on Systems Management follows the Lincom Solutions direction of ‘use best of breed whenever you can’. This is why we use and recommend a range of management solutions to suit the specific workload and operations requirement.
Our primary offering utilises the Microsoft Systems Centre Suite. The two main components of this suite are System Centre Operations ManagerĀ (SCOM) and Systems Centre Configuration Manager (SCCM).
SCOM is designed to efferent an extensible engine that can quickly get a Customers operation management up to speed by taking advantage of built in production knowledge that knows how an application or component should behave when it is working correctly as well as list known issues and problems along with remediation steps when problems do occur.
SCCM allows for the collection of detailed hardware and software configuration (similar to the core of any good CMDB) on a range of computing assets including desktops, servers, handheld devices and with the addition of vendor supplied plug ins SCCM will interface to a wide range of industry standard configuration management solutions.
Both these applications are designed around industry standards such the the Desktop Management Task Force (DMTF) and the Common Information Model (CIM v2) so they can be extended to suit specific Customer requirements.
